HOW DO I... OBTAIN
A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION?
Patients on regular
medication do not always need to see a doctor for a repeat of their medicine.
You will be issued with a computer slip attached to your prescription. This should
be returned to the surgery when you need further medication, after ticking the
items you require. We do not take repeat prescriptions over the telephone unless
you are housebound. Please allow 48 hours for processing. Sometimes you may be
asked to come in and see the doctor or nurse before a prescription can be issued.
Due to the large size of our practice we prefer all prescription requests to be
made in person or in writing.
HOW DO I... OBTAIN SICKNESS
CERTIFICATES?
A doctor's medical certificate is
not required for the first seven days of illness. If you are off work for less than
eight days you should fill in a self-certification form available from the surgery
or the DSS. If you feel you must have a doctor's note for less than eight days,
a private note can be provided for which you will be charged a fee.
